Chris Brown in flight scare

His new squeeze? Chris Brown put a familiar hand on the behind of a mystery woman as he escorted her to the Costume Institute Gala Benefit Met Ball after party in New York on Monday night

Chris Brown got the scare of his life when smoke filled the cockpit of his private jet after takeoff.

The Gulfstream 3 Jet was boarded in Burbank and he and his crew were headed to Teterboro, New Jersey to attend the Met Ball.  The pilot was forced to make an emergency landing.

He was in the company of a female friend who he is said to be smashing at the moment.  More pics after the cut...
Certainly close: While there was no indication as to the relationship between the couple, Brown certainly wasn't shy about being photographed with his date

No more Rihanna: Just to ensure his intentions towards his on/off girlfriend weren't mistaken, Brown later took to Twitter to give a clear indication that he had moved on from his girlfriend

Happy to be seen: The pair were happy to be photographed together
