Blackberry has today confirmed that it would allow rival phone makers to use its bbm services. They confirmed that they would initially offer texts, photo messages and group sharing functions on devices running on google's Andriod and Apple's iOS from this summer and then it planned to roll out screen sharing, voice and video calls later in the year. And the good news is that its all without charge.
The move is a problem for Skype, Whatsapp and other rivals. Chief Executive Thorsten Harris revealed the surprise news at the end of his presentation at the firm's annual developers conference in Orlando, Florida
